About
Welcome to Soto Kirana, a heartwarming culinary gem nestled in the vibrant city of Surakarta, Indonesia. Situated at Jl. Moh. Yamin No.68, Jayengan, this beloved eatery invites you to explore its rich history and delectable offerings that have garnered a loyal following over the years.
Soto Kirana is more than just a dining establishment; it’s a staple in the local food scene. Many patrons, like Mariana Wijayanti, fondly recall their families visiting this iconic stall since its humble beginnings. The ambiance is filled with the warm aromas of sizzling and simmering dishes that evoke nostalgia. The restaurant's recently elevated status—partly due to visits from dignitaries such as Pak Sandiaga Uno, the Minister of Tourism—has further amplified its popularity without compromising the essence of authentic Javanese flavors.
The highlight of Soto Kirana's menu is undoubtedly the signature soto ayam (chicken soup), praised for its light yet robust taste. Accompanying this delightful dish is a variety of mouthwatering sides, including tempe goreng (fried tempeh) and the tantalizing sosis solo (wet solo sausage), both of which have become favorites among locals and visitors alike. For those with adventurous palates, the fried offals provide a unique twist that enhances the dining experience.
With reviews pointing to an overall improvement in quality, the establishment is hailed as a legendary warung, standing out among the many similar offerings in Solo. Ary Putra notes the reasonable prices, making Soto Kirana an accessible option for all. Cleanliness and efficient service add to the appeal, while a dedicated staff ensures that every visit is met with warm hospitality.
However, it’s worth noting that finding a parking spot can be a bit challenging, as highlighted by Benjamin Ardy. Yet, this minor inconvenience is but a small price to pay for the exquisite culinary journey that awaits you. Whether you’re in the mood for a hearty breakfast or a satisfying lunch, Soto Kirana promises a delightful experience that leaves a lasting impression.
Overall, Soto Kirana is not just a restaurant; it’s a celebration of heritage and flavors that captures the spirit of Javanese cuisine. Whether you come for the soto or the warm ambiance, this eatery is a must-try for anyone visiting Solo. Come, indulge in their culinary delights, and immerse yourself in the rich tapestry of local culture that Soto Kirana has to offer!
“ Update: Recently i think quality has improved a little & increasing in popularity too after Pak Sandiaga Uno (the minister of tourism) came to visit. Must try: Soto ayam Tempe goreng Sosis solo (basah) Fried offals ---------------- Kirana is also one of the Soto stall that has a long history in Solo. My family frequented this establishment a lot since when they were still a small stall, but after they moved to a bigger place, the taste somehow changed, still nice but we don't go as much anymore. They have chicken and beef Soto now, and different kind of Javanese dishes. Still worth a try. Many payment options are available: cash, debit, gopay. ”
“ Fully recommended! The taste is light but very delicious. Price is very reasonable. Side dishes are all also delicious, but just bear in mind that price of jerohan (babat, kikil, etc) is more expensive that the soto itself ;) ”
“ One of the legendary warung soto in Solo. The taste was okay—you can find similar ones at other warung soto, sometimes even at lower prices. The place was clean, and the staff were well-organized. The only downside is that if you come by car, finding a parking spot can be a bit challenging. ”
“ Nice place to get soto. They have laksa to. I think i prefers the laksa one than soto. But the soto its self also good. ”
“ In Solo but you have no idea which place to have breakfast? This place is recommended for you if you go to Solo. A very good Soto Ayam and all its side dishes, especially fried Tempe. Taste: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Price: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ But I caught one nice thing here: all the workers are women! Nice! Parking space: not really big, but there's a parking-man who's there to help! So, just come and have a good time! ”
“ Nice place, I try their Chicken Soup (Soto Ayam), quite good taste light, but if you do not like other chicken meat part except breast part you must mention it when you make an order. They also use plastic and cover to ensure their side dish quite clean. They have different menu of the day, make sure ask before you order, curry rice is also good, i taste my friends meal. Will be back again to try another menu. This place is not too crowded toons. One of their famous side dish lung satay, it is good if you like this kind type of food. ”
“ Blind buy from food delivery app because it has good rating. Tried their beef soto and condiments like tempe, tahu, perkedel etc. Honestly the taste is not too bad but not special. ”
“ I tried Soto Ayam and Kare Sapi. This type of soto and broth is not my thing but it's okay, I was in Solo to explore their authentic culinary. But they have plenty of side dish choices, that are more exciting for me and I tried several, like it. ”
